Basil
Rouskas began his corporate career after successfully completing an Air
Force high security classification intelligence information
assignment for NATO in Europe.
His
corporate career started in a medium size engineering and manufacturing
company operation serving the telecommunications business. Subsequently he worked for the Risk Management and Safety
Engineering division of the Chubb Group of Insurance Companies,
where he performed Risk Analyses and Risk Management programs for
numerous client corporations operating in the Energy, Textile Mfg.
Pharmaceuticals, Construction, Health Care, Transportation,
Instrument Mfg, Electronics, Computer Services and Fiber Optics
transmission. He was promoted several times and managed several
professionals in their training and development as well as in their
analytical reports.
Subsequent
to his Risk Management assignments, he was promoted as a Regional
Manager in one of Chubb’s underwriting divisions, responsible for
Business Development, Agent Relations, Field Engineering
Supervision, Rating & Policy Issuance, including high value
Claims negotiations and settlement.
He
completed his corporate career in the International Division of
Chubb where he negotiated contracts with overseas insurers,
developed new insurance products and ultimately managed a portfolio
of diverse risks in excess of $10 million as the top Zonal
Underwriting Officer of the Caribbean Zone.
Mr. Rouskas is
an experienced presenter, trainer, coach and facilitator with
clientele in a diversified cross section of industries and
companies. He has
facilitated Strategic Planning retreats and Senior Team Development
processes. Furthermore,
he has designed and collected data utilizing surveys of executive
and professional behaviors along the dimensions of competencies
required for successful contribution to the organization.
He has extensive experience in providing coaching to
executives and professionals regarding their 360-degree feedback
data and assisting them to drive personal change and to increase the
effectiveness of their team.
Additionally, in
consultation with client companies, has effectively translated
business initiatives in concrete competencies and skills by
designing development processes that are delivered through highly
customized training programs or through individual coaching
programs.
Mr. Rouskas has
delivered numerous presentations on 360 feedback and executive /
professional development to several professional organizations
including the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), the
National Human Resources Association (NHRA), the Business Marketing
Association, the Association of HR Officers in the Flavor and
Fragrance Industry, and various State Chapters of Financial
Executives’ Associations.
He has also
taught at several institutions of higher learning and has been a
lecturer, consultant and leadership development instructor since
1993 at the S.C. Johnson (MBA) Graduate School of Business at
Cornell University in Ithaca, NY.
Over
the 18 years in the consulting business he has served numerous
clients in a variety of industries and in companies of all sizes. Some representative clientele includes General Electric,
Chemical Bank (currently Chase), Foster Wheeler, Nabisco, Merck,
Johnson & Johnson, Schering Plough, Warner Lambert (currently
Pfizer), Cornell University, Euler –ACI, Bristol Myers Squibb,
Masco Industries, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of NJ, Chubb, Summit
Bank (currently Fleet), Rutgers University, Operation Smile,
Prudential, Woodward Clyde, Alpha Net Solutions, Nitta Casings,
Barclays Bank, Recruit USA and several smaller organizations.
